How Our Process Works
One of our Learning Strategists or Tutor Placement Specialists (depending on the nature of the job) will send the job ad to you.
If you are interested in the job you can apply.
The team may contact you once or twice to confirm a few logistical details and will then propose tutors for the job.
You will receive an SMS letting you know if you have been proposed for the job and will be asked to keep those days/times open for 48 hours.
The client will be sent a list of all of the tutors that have been proposed and will select the one they like best.
If you are chosen by the client, you will be sent an SMS notifying you. You will also be sent all the required details (contact info, lesson schedule, etc) well in advance of the job commencing. If you are not chosen for the job, you will be able to check the status via your tutor portal by searching the job number in the search bar.
You can also follow up on jobs you have applied for on the Tutor Portal.
Please keep in mind that Teach Me 2 primarily makes use of WhatsApp Messenger to contact our tutors, so do ensure you have WhatsApp set up on your phone if you would like to have immediate contact with regard to potential jobs. The quicker and more efficiently we can communicate with you, the higher your chances of getting the job! π
Please be aware that when applying for jobs, you will need to apply for jobs listed as "verified".
Jobs are visible when they are still in the client inquiry phase and often the client cancels as they do not go ahead with the inquiry thus you are not selected for the job as the job is no longer going ahead. As a rule of thumb, to make it easier for you we would strongly advise that should you not have heard back in 48 hours regarding a job, you should go ahead and apply for other jobs. You will need to be persistent in applying and not get discouraged by non-selection - our jobs are highly competitive and there are 1000s of qualified tutors on our system.

βHow to make your profile the best it can be now that you're an official TM2 tutor π
Please only focus on the points that apply to you! But do keep in mind that these tips are all equally important.
1. Adding face-to-face or online tutoring as an option, if you have not done so already
The more modes you are able to tutor in, the more job opportunities you will have!
Refer to the following articles for more information:
- Introduction to online tutoring and how to get started
- Face-to-face tutoring in light of COVID-19
2. Adding more subjects to your profile
Please see this article on how to add subjects to your profile. Not only will this likely result in the system sending you more job offers, but it also makes you available to clients who want the same tutor for multiple subjects. The more the better! π
3. Reviewing your Subject Justifications
Make sure your subject justifications are interesting and set you apart! Of course, you want them to be well-written and grammatically correct; but you also want them to be original and truly reflect both the awesome person you are, but also the awesome tutor you can be!
Subject justifications are important because they are seen by potential clients and explain why you think you're the best candidate to tutor that subject.
Oftentimes, clients are choosing between multiple tutors, so we of course would want them to choose you! Clients use this information to make the decision of which tutor they'd like to work with, so it's important for you to keep your subject motivations short, professional, informative, and interesting.
4. Reviewing your profile picture
Please ensure that your profile picture is a professional-looking close-up so that potential clients can see your friendly, smiling face. Your photo is the first thing clients see when they look at your profile so it's very important that you give off a great first impression. Clients want to be taught by someone friendly, kind, professional and energetic looking! If you were to change your profile picture to be more reflective of that, that will certainly help you stand out.
5. Offering the Good Match Guarantee
Set yourself apart from other tutors by offering Good Match Guarantee. This means that if the customer isnβt happy with you after the first lesson, the lesson is free! Customers are far more likely to choose you instead of others if they know youβre committed to their satisfaction.
6. Updating your availability
Make sure to keep your available hours as accurate and flexible as possible. Not only does this give you room for more than one job, but it also prevents our Tutor Placement Team from contacting or proposing jobs to you that you cannot accept.
Conversely, it helps our Tutor Team propose jobs to you that you can quickly accept!
β
Finally, by keeping everything updated, the clients know that you are available, you are eager, and you are organized enough to keep your times up-to-date. π
7. Applying for jobs
Make sure you apply to job offers as soon as you can and keep a constant lookout for verified jobs you are keen on applying for on your tutor dashboard. This shows the Tutor Placement Team that you are actively looking for work and that you are proactive (it also means they will keep seeing your name and are more likely to remember you for future jobs that fit your profile!)!
If you have any further questions, our tutor center is full of articles covering our FAQs, and chances are your questions have all been answered there. π But if not, you can contact our Tutor Onboarding Team via email ([email protected]) and via the purple chat bubble in the bottom right corner will allow you to chat with someone super helpful and friendly from our team at any point.
Happy tutoring! π―
